The comm lab story

Communications LAB "Comm LAB" is a unique blend of public affairs, community outreach, and strategic marketing services. With expertise ranging from water infrastructure and transportation, to public utilities and non-profit organization administration and management, we are a mighty team of professionals that are ready, willing, and able to help you meet your goals.

Comm LAB was formed in 2013 when Arianna Barrios of Barrios and Associates, a communications consultant since 2006, acquired the marketing and media division of Faubel Public Affairs (FPA). The new firm brought together the talent and experience of Barrios and her partner and husband, Brian Lochrie, thus making the “L” and “B” of Comm LAB. Following the acquisition of FPA’s portfolio, Communications LAB continued to win strategic, high profile contracts including Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric, OC Forum, County of Orange. Comm LAB is a family-owned and operated business and are hands on by nature. We understand the critical need to connect clients with residents, businesses and key stakeholders in the community. At its core, the firm provides ongoing, relevant communication in order to cultivate valuable community capital in the form of goodwill and trust.

Our full-service agency provides you with focused communication, consulting services, strategic planning, crisis communications, media relations and community outreach services to reach your target audiences. With our team-based approach, we have the capability to develop ideas and strategies then implement them from beginning to end. In-house graphic design, web editing, video production and translation services all add to the complete package Comm LAB can provide to any client.
