Communications LAB not only provided community outreach support, but also  assisted with government relations, media relations, graphic design and video production services. In a “David v. Goliath” resolution, EOCWD proved that community support could really make the difference. Nearly 100 local residents attended the public hearing wearing matching orange shirts and testifying in support of EOCWD. South Orange County Reliability Enhancement

Communications LAB served as the lead community outreach agency supporting SDG&E’s South Orange County Reliability Enhancement (SOCRE) project. Prior to the SOCRE project, all of South Orange County was served by one transmission substation in Talega, San Clemente.  In the interest of infrastructure redundancy, it was critical to rebuild and improve the 100-year-old substation in San Juan Capistrano so it could handle the transmission load for South Orange County should the Talega substation face a power interruption. I-5 Improvement Project

Communications LAB provided management and oversight of the outreach during the Project Approval / Environmental Development (PA/ED) Phase of the project.  Outreach elements included an official Public Hearing as well as several unofficial but important community open houses and neighborhood “community coffees” on weekends in cul de sacs and pocket parks to inform residents about the project alternatives, benefits and potential impacts. Southern California Edison

Communications LAB was tasked by the largest power company in Southern California (Southern California Edison) to raise awareness in Hispanic students and the Hispanic community of their flagship corporate responsibility and scholarship program “Edison Scholars,” a need-based scholarship for STEM-field degrees. As a result of our efforts, media coverage of the annual scholarship awards announcement was nearly doubled in terms of the number of Hispanic media placements. READ MORE
